Auditions for ‘NSFW’: 03/12

We are delighted to announce that auditions for our April show, ‘NSFW’ take place on Sunday 3rd December 7pm.
Why audition?
  • Not only is the show a sharp comedy looking about power games and privacy in the media, it also boasts a terrific cast of characters, with lots of interesting personalities to get your teeth into!
What’s it about?
  • NSFW (Not Safe For Work):
  • Power games, first jobs, getting ahead, moral compasses, sex and nudity – this play has it all.  The first two scenes are set in Doghouse - a lads mag that’s not afraid to bare all to sell copies.  The third and final scene is set in Electra - an inspirational woman’s mag celebrating all things feminine.  It prides itself on it’s intellectual and spiritual prowess.  Very different to Doghouse… until you scratch the surface.
Who can I play?
The following are some guidelines as to the cast and the required ages.
  • Charlotte – the mid 20s – committed and ambitious
  • Rupert – late 20s – privileged and bored
  • Sam – early 20s – first jobber – keen to please
  • Aidan – early/mid-40s – seen it all editor of Doghouse
  • Mr Bradshaw – late 40s – a dad determined to protect his little girl’s reputation… up to a point.
  • Miranda – late 40s – editor of Electra – feeling her age in a world of youth.
Please note that these are guidelines only and the director is flexible regarding the majority of the characters (for example, Charlotte and Rupert can go into their 30s and Aidan, Mr Bradshaw and Miranda are also flexible in and around late 30s up to 50s).  Sam is the only character that needs to be obviously very young!
